In our daily work, we strive to realise the values from our common guiding principles.

At St. Alfons, monastic and non-monastic individuals are working together. We are open to everyone of good will who wants to work with us, regardless of belief or religious affiliation. We do expect an openness towards our Christian orientation. Would you like to support us in our work in this spirit and on the basis of the Christian conception of man?

Internship

Utilise your talent and curiosity and learn about the diverse possibilities in the field of care and within our institution. We offer various internship opportunities:

  • Taster Internship: A taster internship usually lasts one week. You will gain an initial insight into various processes in care and nursing. In doing so, you can already get a feel for the nursing profession and determine whether this career could interest you.
  • School Internship: Undertaking a school internship – commonly from year 8 in secondary school, and from year 9 in high school, or during year 11 at a technical high school – you will work several weeks in an elderly care and nursing home. In practice, you can then better get to know the elderly residents and the colleagues in your team, try out many things for yourself and ask endless questions. Doing an internship with us is the best way to find out whether you have a real caregiver within you.
  • Orientation Internship: The nursing profession in a care home offers a wide range of tasks and activities with diverse opportunities for professional development. The care of the elderly requires the nursing staff to have a high degree of both professional and social competence. Not everyone is sure if they are suitable for the personal interaction required in nursing. Even people with life experience who wish to reorient their career sometimes use the opportunity to check their desire to work in this field through a professional internship.

Interested in doing an internship? If you are interested in doing an internship at our institution, please feel free to contact Ms Martina Kolb directly. We look forward to meeting you!
